 Electrocautery-Induced VT

Abstract

This was supposed to be a straight-forward “uncomplicated” pacemaker replacement procedure with same day admission and discharge. The patient was successfully resuscitated and did not sustain any adverse long-term sequelae, but this case illustrates the potential, admittedly rare, life-threatening interaction between electrocautery and permanent pacemakers.
