 Pseudo-Malfunction, Recording Artifact

Abstract

A patient was implanted with a DDDR pacing system in 2001 and recently moved to the area. He was referred for follow-up evaluation and it was discovered that the implanted pacing system was not one the hospital had access to. Using the SJM Merlin™ Patient Care System, a series of rhythm strips were obtained, without and with a magnet. Effectively, this was an in-office “transtelephonic” evaluation.
