Abstract
FFRWs are sensed in approximately one-third of patients with DDD pacemakers and represent the primary reason for inappropriate automatic mode switch (AMS). We hypothesized that decreasing the atrial lead anode to cathode tip-to-ring electrode spacing reduces FFRW sensing. The OptiSense® 1699T Lead Study was a prospective, multi-center, randomized trial designed to evaluate ability of a 1.1mm bipolar tip-to-ring spacing to attenuate FFRW signals and decrease inappropriate AMS.
