Beating Heart Curriculum


The Beating Heart Curriculum is a sequence of modules addressing Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM). The first module is on Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) that aims to provide a better understanding of heart failure disease and to define different treatment options. The module consists of three sessions progressing systematically from conventional to advanced implants, covering all the dimensions involved in care for patients with heart failure.

Who Should Attend?
Physicians new to CRT with experience in low/high voltage implants and with access to a CRT-implanting facility

Session I - Introduction: Conventional implants

Objectives: 
  •  Be comfortable with patient and device selection 
  •  Be equipped with tips, tricks and tools to perform safe and efficient implants

Session II - Follow-up and optimization

Objectives: 
  •  Optimize therapy for optimal patient outcome 
  •  Decrease non-responders

Session III - Advanced implants and follow-up

Objectives: 
  •  Be comfortable performing upgrades 
  •  Be comfortable performing right-sided implants
