Cardiac Surgeon Curriculum
With the fast moving techniques and technologies in cardiothoracic surgery, St. Jude Medical wants to partner with the cardiac surgeon community at every stage of their practice. The cardiac surgeon curriculum is composed of three two-day modules, providing a practical education program for cardiac surgeons starting their practice. Each module will approach unique aspects of cardiac surgery treatment options to optimize daily practice.
Who Should Attend?
Cardiac surgeons eager to develop a systematic approach to treat aortic and mitral valve disease.
Module I: Aortic Valve
Objectives:
- Implement a systematic comprehensive approach to different surgical techniques in aortic valve disease.
- Understand aortic valve disease through case review sessions, expert discussions and hands-on practical wet lab sessions.
- Enable surgeons to optimize patient selection
Module II: Mitral Valve
Objectives:
- Understand mitral valve disease through case review sessions, expert discussions and hands-on practical wet lab sessions.
- Increase confidence and knowledge of mitral valve disease.
Module III: Atrial Fibrillation Complete - From Understanding the Disease Treatments to Positive Outcomes
Objectives:
- Build confidence in and knowledge of alternative surgical therapies.
